Theme: How the world works

Central idea: Knowing that light comes from different sources and has different properties helps us understand that it is an essential resource.

As part of our inquiry into the properties of our main source of light, the sun, our 2nd graders learned about its essential role in plant growth and photosynthesis. They planted lettuce seeds, observed and recorded their growth and changes for 6 weeks.

And now it's time to enjoy the fruits
